New staff at the National Health Laboratory (NHL), Mrs. Khin Aye Mon, bacteriologist, and Mr. Wai Yan Aung, Medical technologist, from the Virology Unit have been trained for one week at the Virology Unit at Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) on:
- Direct fluorescent antibody test by using of polyclonal or monoclonal conjugated antibodies for detection virus antigens by means of fluorescent microscopy
- Real-time reverse transcriptase PCR (Rt-qPCR); transcription of viral RNA to cDNA and its amplification it using specific primers and probes with detection of PCR product in real time.
- Testing by ELISA
This training supervised by Philippe Dussart, Head of the Virology Unit at IPC was implemented by Ms. Ken Sreymom, Mr. Mey Channa, Ms. Bun Kimrong and Mr. Heng Leangyi; through this collaboration, the two teams have again strengthened the relationship building between IPC and NHL.
