Joint mission at IPC

In June 2017 an educational support from TICA (Thai International Cooperation Agency) has been envisaged by AFD to fill some training gaps, if any, in the framework of ECOMORE project.

The head of the Medical Entomology Unit of Institut Pasteur in Cambodia, Sébastien Boyer identified a real need to improve the capacity of the team of 4 junior entomologist to identify mosquitoes (taxonomy). A Concept Note was issued to describe the requirements in terms of training and training materials and this has been presented to TICA in Bangkok at different levels. In October 2017, Dr Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Director General of TICA expressed his concern for the proposal; consequently, on a joint team composed of Mrs. ChachsaranLertkiattiwong, Development Cooperation Officer at TICA, Mrs. Suwida Kingmuangkaw, Senior Investment Officer at AFD in Bangkok and Pr. Theeraphap Chareonviriyaphap, senior entomologist at Kasetsart University of Bangkok visited the entomology unit at Institut Pasteur in Cambodia on 18 and 19 January 2018,  to better evaluate the needs of the entomology unit, laboratory and insectarium; they met as well main stakeholders at the MoH, especially CNM who will be responsible of the bilateral cooperation for this program.
