Leptospirosis: training on lab diagnosis at NHL

Dr Cyrille Goarant, Head of the URE on Leptopirosis at the Institut Pasteur of New Caledonia has carried out an academic and practical training course on lab diagnosis of Leptospirosis by qPCR at NHL bacteriology unit on 25-26 January 2018. After reviewing in detail the SYBR Green and TaqMan techniques with the technicians of NHL bacteriologists, he assisted them to perform properly all stages of the PCR procedures. Finally the bacteriology staff could undertake successfully the detection and identification of 4 strains of Leptospira; the NHL is ready to conduct the field study of ECOMORE₂ project.
